Vigna Zis Pinot Noir

Südtirol Alto Adige DOC

Grape variety: 100 % Pinot Noir

Terroir: The vines for Vigna ZIS, with strictly reduced yields, take root in Mazon at an altitude of 400 meters above sea level and are the oldest at Brunnenhof. The sandy clay soil, the afternoon sun, and the winds from Lake Garda provide ideal conditions for the vineyard. For 100 years now, the Pinot Noir that characterizes this area has been cultivated in Mazon.

Colour: Ruby to garnet red with slight brick-red reflections.

Production: The selected grapes, harvested as late as possible and very ripe, are fermented in large wooden barrels. Subsequently, malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine is aged for at least one year in tonneaux, with two types of aging: one in new barrels and the other in second-use barrels.

Degustation: On the nose, it strongly recalls strawberries, raspberries, plums, and cherries. On the palate, it unfolds its full power: it is full-bodied and velvety. Compared to Pinot Nero Riserva, Vigna ZIS is even more concentrated, full-bodied, and spicy.

Suggestions: Perfect with grilled dishes, pork or veal roasts, game, smoked or grilled fish, and flavorful cheeses.
