Grape variety: 100 % Lagrein
Terroir: The Lagrein vines grow on scree near the Trudener river in Vill, near Neumarkt, at 250 metres above sea level.
Colour: Dense, dark ruby red
Production: The grapes ferment in 25-hectolitre oak barrels with about two weeks maceration and then acid reduction. The Lagrein ages for one year in 500 litre and 700 litre oak barrels.
Degustation: An intensive nose of concentrated black fruit and fresh woodland earth. Clear and delicate fruit. Long, silky finish, soft acidity and velvety fullness.
Suggestions: Ideal with hearty meat dishes, sausage specialities and mature cheese.
