Grape variety: 100 % Blauburgunder
Terroir: The grapes for the Pinot Nero Riserva grow in Mazon at 400 meteres above sea level. The sandy clay soil, the afternoon sun and the wind from Lake Garda provide the perfect conditions for the vines. Blauburgunder, which characterizes the area, has been
grown in Mazon for 100 years.
Colour: Ruby to garnet red with soft brick-red hues Production: The hand-selected grapes are left to macerate in a large wooden barrel for two weeks. A regular manual punching down of the trester head leads to an optimal extraction of colour and aroma. This is followed by the biological acid reduction, the wine is stored for a year in a 500-litre oak barrel and then for a further eight to ten months in a big oak barrel. The bottled wine rests for a year in the cellar before being sold.
Degustation: A nose of strawberries, raspberries, plumbs and cherries. On the palate its full strength unfolds, full-bodied and velvety with a pleasant tannic note and fine, distinctive aroma. The typical characteristic of Pinot Noir from Mazon is the fine fruity sweetness on the finish.
Suggestions: Ideal with grilled or roasted meat, game or with grilled fish. The perfect accompaniment to mature cheese.
